12:56: i have learned that you need to take risks to get ahead. which is why i decided to go watch nala's first gig at ipanema intead of watching chiquita at tapika, even if i risked watching alone and getting lost (i don't hang out at eastwood). and yes, it did pay off. a lot of my friends were there. katabi ko pa at kasabay kong kumanta yung crush ko!
even chiquita's band, his mom and sister were there. hahaha... real sweet! after nala's last set, etoile and i followed at tapika. we only caught the last part of chiquita's last song. biker boy, who was already tipsy before he left us at ipanema, refused to give up on the whole jamming bit. so, long story short, he, etoile, nala and i went to chiquita's house for a late night jam. ang saya saya saya saya! funny... chiquita suddenly went all senti on us when we started singing this one song.
he turned off the lights and put on the mood lamps. he kept banging his fist on the bed and shaking his head. poor little chiquita banana.
for some unknown reason, i couldn't care less who i was with that night. i just kept singing with them, right notes or not, no matter how nice or how bad the songs were. wanna know how bad was bad? try this. we just kept singing till their whole house was awake and chiquita's mom made us breakfast. we left at past 10am and got home just before lunch.
it's only now that the embarrassment is sinking in. geez, what was i thinking, trying to sing with those people?! good thing nala never got to record anything.
