12:42: i've learned that when you've been raised as a member of a big family, you tend to get a little selfish once you're on your own. been feeling that a lot lately. from myself and others. but this just set me off.
i went dvd shopping yesterday, but this dvd player we keep in the living room won't play any of my discs. my brother keeps another dvd player in his room, one that isn't as picky as the other player. but he refuses to lend me his player (because he's doing an x-files marathon, which he can do on any damn player anyway) and i can't find out if any of my new discs work so i can return them for a replacement or a refund.
it just doesn't make any sense. if he keeps his dvd player in the living room, everyone ends up happy, because everyone watches in there, anyway. he does, his wife does, his kid does, my mom does. whereas if he keeps the player in his room, the only ones who can use it are --- right. of course.
so what is this really about, lifey?
i've been pushed out of the nucleus. i feel like an outsider in my own home. sigh.
solution?
until i can move out of here, let's play the selfish game. i'll buy my own damn player. fick it.
ok, bratty rant done.
