00:14: i don't like competitive gaming. in fact, i don't like competition, period. maybe it stems from being the youngest of six kids and having older brothers beat you at just about everything. builds character, my @$$! i do admit, i like playing games, but i think of myself as a casual gamer. by "casual gamer", i mean someone who plays final fantasy or other rpg's of the sort for 10 hours straight on weekends and maybe an hour or two on weekdays, if i'm not too busy. no, really, i'm not a hardcore game geek. i say this because i don't know a lot of titles. i don't memorise codes for cool moves in fighting games and such. of course i know the classic up-up-down-down-left-right-left-right- b-a-start command for the old nintendo, but then anyone from my generation knows that. i don't look forward to new games. i don't drool over consoles. i think the only reason i ever played with the stuff was because my dad would urge us to. he'd keep buying them, probably in an attempt to keep us home. i don't think i ever truly wanted games or consoles that we didn't already have. but damn this new job of mine.
i want an xbox 360. badly. everyday, i learn something new about that machine, and everyday, our trainer asks us "can your ps2 do that? (or your ps3? do you even have a ps3??)" and i feel bad. don't get me wrong, i don't love our ps2 any less. it's just that the xbox 360 makes it look like, well, a toy. it's not just the machine itself, either. even the games are cooler. gears of war? i don't like shooting games, first or third person, but it's frickin' awesome stuff! even games that are available on other consoles are better on the 360. better graphics, more possibilities.
sigh. santa? have i been good this year?Labels: gaming, raves
